چکیده
Abstract Background A substantial body of evidence suggests that children exposed to maternal hypertensive disorders during pregnancy (HDP) have increased risks preterm birth, fetal growth restriction and several cardiovascular risk factors (e.g., hypertension, obesity, diabetes) later in life. However, the direct on link between HDP severe diseases such as ischemic heart disease (IHD) stroke offspring is very limited. Objective To investigate associations IHD offspring. Methods We conducted a population-based cohort study by linking national registers Sweden Finland. Live singleton births from Swedish Medical Birth Register (1973–2014) Finnish (1987- 2014) were followed for until 2014 patient cause death registers. performed Cox regression models examine association its subtypes, i.e., pre-existing chronic gestational preeclampsia, IHD, while adjusting relevant pregnancy-related confounders. sibling analyses control unmeasured shared familial (genetic and/or environmental) factors. Results Among 5,807,122 singletons included study, 218,322 (3.76%) born mothers with HDP. During up 41 years follow-up, 2,340 (0.04%) diagnosed 5,360 (0.09%) stroke. Offspring had an (adjusted hazard ratio (aHR), 1.29; 95% confidence interval (CI), 1.01–1.63), (aHR,1.33; CI, 1.14–1.56). Significantly rates also observed subtypes HDP: hypertension (aHR, 1.64; 1.03–2.60), (HR, 1.38; 1.08–1.77), preeclampsia 1.26; 1.02–1.55). The offspring's independent birth small age at birth. Maternal remained associated 1.94; 1.16–3.22), but not 0.89; 0.47–1.67) analyses. Conclusion Children childhood young adulthood. While seemed be attributed confounding factors, relation persisted even when considering confounding. BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Total homocysteine level (tHcy) is a risk factor of ischemic stroke (IS) and coronary heart disease. However, the results are conflicting and mainly focused on healthy individuals in developed countries. متن کاملMaternal Mortality Predictors in Women with Hypertensive Disorders of Pregnancy: A Retrospective Cohort Study
BACKGROUND Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) are multisystem disorders unique to human pregnancy. They are becoming the leading causes of maternal mortality worldwide, with the majority of deaths occurring in low income countries. However, little is known about the predictors of maternal mortality in women with HDP. METHODS A retrospective cohort study was conducted between 2008 and 2...
متن کاملBrain derived neurotrophic factor moderates associations between maternal smoking during pregnancy and offspring behavioral disorders.
Maternal smoking during pregnancy is associated with a number of adverse offspring outcomes. In the present study, based on 209 offspring from a 3-generation family study of depression, we show that the effects of prenatal exposure on offspring externalizing psychopathology (conduct, substance use disorder) is more pronounced in the presence of lower-expressing brain derived neurotrophic factor...
